Daniel began his musical journey in Cedar City, Utah in 2009, studying trumpet, piano, and guitar. He continued with trumpet through middle school and into high school, earning trumpet positions in multiple ensembles including Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band. After moving to Smithfield, Utah, Daniel transitioned to French horn, serving as principal horn in the Sky View High School Symphonic Band. Later, after relocating to Idaho Falls, Idaho, he performed with the Idaho Falls High School Band and earned 4th place in the Idaho State Solo and Ensemble Competition for French horn.

Daniel’s passion for the marching arts began as a member of the Sky View High School Marching Band (UT) under Randall Beach and the Idaho Falls High School Marching Band (ID) under Jason Bull. His love for the activity deepened when he joined the indoor percussion community, where he marched two years on tenors with Troopercussion Indoor before spending four years on snare and one year on bass drum with North Star Independent. In 2021, and 2022, his age-out year, Daniel served as center snare for North Star when in 2022 the ensemble advanced to WGI World Championships, finishing in the top 10 of the Independent A Class.

In 2023, Daniel performed with the Troopers Legacy Corps on snare drum, culminating in a performance at WGI World Championships. He returned to the Legacy Corps in 2025 as Percussion Caption Head, helping lead and develop the ensemble’s percussion program.

While still an active performer, Daniel began his instructional career, sharing his knowledge and passion for the marching arts with programs across Southeast Idaho. He has taught at Idaho Falls High School, Bonneville High School, Skyline High School, Hillcrest High School, Snake River High School, and the High Desert Marching Band. 

Daniel currently serves as the Percussion Supervisor for the Idaho Falls High School Marching Band, and the Battery Caption Head at North Star Independent.
