Safety

WGI Sport of the Arts is committed to building a community where participants can learn together in an atmosphere free of emotional, physical, and sexual misconduct. WGI has created Participant Protection Practice (3P)- a custom-built, four-year, progressive learning pathway designed to build a strong foundation of safety, ethical behavior, and proactive prevention across the WGI community. 


 Any group participating in WGI events is required to obtain a national criminal background check (or some satisfactory equivalent for country or locale) for any adult supervisor having regular contact with or authority over participants. Starting in 2025, adult supervisors must also complete Course 1 of the 3P training.


North Star Independent keeps copies of all background checks and 3P training records for each staff member on file and are available to be viewed upon request.
